More Scandalous Rudy Giuliani Sports-Related Scandals!
Get Sean Hannity on the phone, because it seems that Mr. Giuliani has been changing teams faster than he changes wives. There’s a lot of dirt on Rudy Giuliani that gets media coverage- affairs, corruption, mob ties, liberal social stances- but one scandal that doesn’t get as much play as it should is his sports-related flip-flopping.
As reported in the New York Times, and vetted out in a recently televised Republican debate, Rudy switched his support from the New York Yankees to the Boston Red Sox right before the Red Sox won the World Series last season. Needless to say, this was not appreciated by Yankee supporters, who classically hate the Red Sox and would no sooner root for Boston than root for dog poop grazing and kind of just touching their lower lips. Pfffthf!
Rudy’s response to the outrage expressed by other Yankee fans (as well as American voters who demand that politicians have as much loyalty to their sports teams as they do to stances on all issues, all things, throughout the entirety of their lives) is that he’s an American League fan. When the Yankees fail he roots for whoever the AL sends to the series, regardless of whether it’s he Red Sox. He then added, “September… the eleventh.”
