All this talk about Rudy Giuliani and the Yankees and Giants is giving this blogger an idea. Sports and politicians aren’t usually mixed, but when they do it’s great material for blogs because most people have a half-B.S. opinion about both. It’s up to the blogging community to keep these Washington-types honest. Since the rest of the real bloggers and journalists out there are going to watch out for corruption, it’s up to me to be a watchdog for sports. Woof, woof, politicos. Is that the smell fear I sniff?

Perhaps this is a good idea for the theme of the blog from here on out. There seems to be a bunch of blogs about politics, and perhaps even more about sports. Are there any decent blogs about both of them… combined?

With a little research I found out that the guy who started DailyKos.com, one of the leading left-leaning blogs out there, also has a bunch of sports blogs as well. Maybe fantivity.com can be the link between those two.

There are all sorts of ways you can cover the intersection of sports and politics. For example, Major League Baseball is currently getting eyeballed by congress for drugs and lying about drugs. Which politicians are using this to score points on capital hill? What do the candidates feel about the whole mess? These questions are usually reserved for small snippets on a candidates webpage. Favorite book, favorite sports team, favorite quote. Now it will get the laser-sharp focus of Fantivity!
