Rudy’s been out of the race ever since he failed to beat Ron Paul in Florida, but just because he’s a loser doesn’t mean that the sports celebrities supporting him are. A-Rod and George Steinbrenner are just two of the faces of the perpetually-winning New York Yankees who have given money to the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Committee.

There’s always the chance that Ru-Giu could become the running mate for McCain, especially given his endorsement of the Arizona Senator, but something tells me that Mr. Steinbrenner knows a little something about Big Apple winners. His most recent contributions have been to the Democratic Party, Congressman Chuck Rangel, (D) NY, and still-alive Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
