Holy moley, Max Mosley! And you though that Elliot Spitzer was a juicy bit of scandal? Wait ‘til you read this headline from the New York Times: “Possible Nazi Theme of Grand Prix Boss’s Orgy Draws Calls to Quit.”

Alright, if you don’t want to read the whole thing, I’ll try to sum it up here. Max Mosley, the president of the FIA (otherwise known as Formula One, or F1, the international governing body of Indy car racing) was secretly filmed in an orgy with about half a dozen prostitutes in a London cellar.

While the fact that he’s a married man and a public figure might be enough for a media freak-out in America, you haven’t heard the best part. Apparently some of the women in attendance were dressed in black and white striped prison uniforms, Max shouted commands at them in German, and the whipping and various other goings-on were just a bit too concentration camp to be misunderstood.

But oh, it gets deeper. And here’s the part where sports meets politics and things get Fantivity up in here:

Max Mosley is the son of Sir Oswald Mosley, who, if you aren’t up on your 1930’s fascist British politicians, was the founder of the British Union of Fascists. Max is one of Oswald’s sons, born from a marriage that took place at Joseph Goebbels’ house in Berlin in 1936. Adolf Hitler himself was present at the wedding. A beautiful affair, really. A bit on the unspeakably evil side, but other than that, just splendid.

Anyways, clearly people are upset. This is Europe, so the whole prostitute thing is not that big of a deal to many folks. It’s legal in much of Europe. However, the Nazi part rubs people the wrong way, and in Europe they are very, very sensitive about that type of thing.

(Side note: Max paid the equivalent of $5,000 for the whole thing even though Elliot Spitzer paid about as much for only one prostitute, and she didn’t even fake a Yiddish accent- what does this say about the drop in value of the American dollar?)

Max Mosley was reprimanded by several of the major motor companies within the Grand Prix racing league. Chief among them, BMW and Benz.

Uh oh! Those two companies were the chief manufacturers of Nazi planes, weaponry and automobiles for Germany prior to and during WWII. In fact, both companies actually used forced labor from internment camps- the very same kind of thing Mosley was referencing during his orgy- in order to get rich from the German war machine. Also of note, the car Hitler drove to Oswald Mosley’s wedding was a custom made Mercedes Benz, a personal present from the Daimler Benz company.

And the circle is complete. Two Nazi companies are pretend pissed about an above-your-petty-morals sexually deviant Nazi millionaire.
