Reverse association really gets my goat. When somebody supports you, THEY are supporting YOU. Not the other way around. So, before we go any further, just note that in no way does Fantivity think that John McCain would ever say something this politically suicidal, this racist, this inflammatory. It showed up on Fantivity’s radar because 1) Tiger Woods is an athlete 2) John McCain is a politician. Therefore, it’s Fantivity.

In a speech introducing John McCain in Washington D.C., Vets for Freedom’s co-founder said, “You can have your Tiger Woods, we have John McCain.” The video clip comes from overtly left Keith Olberman’s Countdown, as brought to you by the slightly less overtly left political blog Veracifier on YouTube, so bear in mind there’s been some filtering here, and the clips are cut so as to get John McCain in the frame as closely to the Tiger Woods comment as possible.

(More like Vets for Black People only Being Good for Sports and Entertainment. If Barack Obama is Tiger Woods, that would make this guy… John Rocker?)

But! Also, what a bunch of jerks. I would hope that McCain wasn’t somewhere off camera clapping and hooting at the comment like the rest of the crowd of jerks. Let’s assume he’s not. So Fantivity is simply saying that Vets for Freedom is a bunch of jerks (oh, wait I just reverse associated). No, specifically, this Balavia guy and the people clapping for him are.

There’s no way to get around the meaning of the quote. The context is…”Rest assured that men like Senator McCain will be the goal, the men that my two young boys will come to emulate and admire. You can have your Tiger Woods, we have John McCain.” What the hell is that supposed to mean? From what I can tell:

1) Barack Obama is Tiger Woods.
2) Dust off Ann Coulter. We’ve found a potential suitor.
